Ayamonte is located on the West Coast of the province of Huelva in Andalucía (Spain) where the Guadiana River, which separates Spain from the Algarve, flows into the Atlantic Ocean. Just one minutes walk away from our Spanish school, you can catch a ferry that will take you to Vila Real de Santo Antonio (Portugal). In Ayamonte you can enjoy the wonderful golden sandy beaches of Isla Canela and Punta del Moral. This coast is named Costa de la Luz due to the intense and clear quality of the light. For this reason, this tip of Spain enjoys fantastic weather with more than 300 sunny days per year. There are many things to do in Ayamonte after your Spanish lessons. Ayamonte has 2 golf courses: Isla Canela Golf and Costa Esuri Golf. Our students can also practice water sports in Costa de la Luz beaches: Windsurf, Sailing, Kitesurf, etc. There are also many important festivals that take place in Ayamonte during the year such as “Las Angustias”, carnival and “Semana Santa” (Easter). Our province of Huelva is famous for its wonderful gastronomy: fresh fish, white prawns, coquinas, and the exquisite taste of jamon cured ham from the famous Iberian black pig. You can try this food in the many bars and restaurants in the pedestrianised centre of Ayamonte.
